In the second week of the finals series, Modbury travel to the Elite Systems Football Centre at Angle Park to take on Sturt Lions in the Elimination Final on Saturday 27 August at 3:00pm.

In an outstanding performance against White City in the first Elimination Semi Final the Jets were unlucky to concede a late goal which took the match to extra time and, ultimately, a penalty shootout win.

The Jets have been in knock-out finals mode for the last two weeks and have arguably been hitting some great form at the right time of the season. Sturt is one of the few sides that Modbury has failed to beat this season however they will be confident of getting the win this week. A neutral venue will suit the Jets and the synthetic pitch (ironically the same surface that is to be installed at Jet Park in the off-season) will be advantageous to Modbury’s football style. The Jets will be under no illusion that they will have to be at their best to beat a very good Sturt team. Its all or nothing this weekend, so Modbury have to go for broke to continue their push for promotion.

In their last meeting, the Jets suffered a 2-0 loss to Sturt at Jet Park in Round 21, however it was a depleted Modbury side on that occasion. Modbury supporters can hardly forget the extraordinary result in Round 10 when after leading 2-0, they conceded twice in time added-on they drew 2-2.
