With Modbury Jets from Under 10s to Under 15s, mid-fielder Jacob Melling first made his A-league debut with Adelaide United under John Kosmina. He moved on to new opportunities last year with Melbourne City, impressing fans with his tireless energy and attacking style of play, and was announced as the club’s Player of the Month for December.

Young gun Brandon Borrello played with Modbury Jets from Under 11s to Under 15s, before moving to Queensland with his family and taking up a scholarship with the Queensland Academy of Sport. With Brisbane Roar Youth team for the last couple of years, Brandon broke into the Roar’s first team ranks last year as striker, and is one of the club’s rising young stars.

Both players represented the club in national competition (Gold Coast Champions Youth Cup), before moving on to State team representation, and eventually National teams competing overseas.

Congratulations to Jacob and Brandon, both are shining examples of Modbury juniors who have had the talent, dedication and determination to put in the hard yards to achieve their dreams.
