The Modbury Soccer Club is delighted to announce the reappointment of First Team coach Jason Trimboli for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, with an option for him to continue in 2018.

Trimboli, currently in his third year coaching the Jets, has been First Team coach since 2013 and guided the club to the PS4 National Premier Leagues in 2015 after winning the playoff final at Coopers Stadium, Hindmarsh last year. After a difficult start to the season, Modbury is sitting outside the relegation zone following their 4-2 win over Raiders last Friday having already claimed the scalps of heavyweights Adelaide Blue Eagles and Adelaide City this season.

Club Vice-President Paul Evans points to the success that Trimboli has had in developing and promoting young players as an important factor in the committee’s decision to reappoint him.

“Jason has proven that he can attract talented youngsters to the club, and has been responsible for promoting former Modbury junior players to the First Team” says Evans. “For a club like Modbury, its important that we continue to develop home-grown talent and Jason will have an ongoing role in ensuring that we give opportunities to our young players.”

Trimboli, a six-time golden boot winner, is a former Modbury player who made 45 appearances for the Jets in 2000-01 and 2006 and says that his long-term relationship with the club was one of the reasons that he was happy to commit for another two seasons.

“I am delighted to be offered an extension on my agreement with the Jets. The last three years have been a work in progress and we are now starting to see the real potential of our team” says Trimboli. “I would like to thank the committee for showing faith in me and giving me the opportunity to continue the hard work I have put into this club.”

Modbury takes on Adelaide City at home on Friday 10 July, with kick-off at 7:30pm and hope to repeat their Round Eight performance when they came away with the points with a convincing 3-1 away win.
